About Mr Kanagaraj Marimuthu

He has many years of experience in his specialist field of bariatric (weight loss) surgery, as well as advanced laparoscopic surgery and general surgery.
Having obtained his medical degree in India in 1993, Mr Marimuthu completed his surgical training in hospitals across the West Midlands and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He also holds a PhD from the University of Nottingham.
He has a wealth of experience in performing advanced laparoscopic surgery, gallbladder surgery, hernia surgery, and anti-reflux surgery.
Mr Marimuthu has a special interest in implementing new technology and has conducted research into the use of endobariatrics and other innovative procedures alongside the team at University Hospitals of North Midlands. Always keen to pass on the knowledge he has gained, Mr Marimuthu has published several research papers in the area of his expertise in renowned peer-reviewed journals including The Journal of Physiology.
